One of the original departments at the University of Oklahoma, the Department of Classics and Letters offers the clearest path to a traditional degree in the Liberal Arts. We offer two undergraduate degree programs.
Students in Classics study the languages, literatures, culture, and history of ancient Greece and Rome. We offer undergraduate majors in Classical Studies, Classical Languages, and Latin. Students can also minor in Classical Culture, Greek, or Latin.
Students in Letters pursue an interdisciplinary curriculum in literature, history, philosophy, as well as an ancient and a modern language. They can also choose to concentrate in Constitutional Studies through the Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage.
Both degree programs prepare students not just for a variety of careers, but for life itself.
