Dr. Paul Branscum, Director
The Community Nutrition and Physical Activity Lab, housed in the Collums Building, strives for advancements in issues related to the design and evaluation of health promotion and education programs. Notably, we are interested in how theory can be used and operationalized in a variety of settings, issues related to public health nutrition (especially childhood obesity prevention), and measurement issues as they related to program evaluation. We are also interested in how theories predict the engagement of behaviors that impact health. In our lab we use mixed methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative designs, and utilize data analysis software such as SPSS, SAS and ATLAS.
