The purpose of the One-Time Instructional Support (OTIS) program is to provide academic units with funding to add new sections of classes or expand the enrollment of an existing section. To be eligible for OTIS funding, units must first have fully allocated all of the instructional funds available in their own budget – including the GA Pool and grant release funds that have been earmarked to replace teaching. OTIS funds may be requested to provide salary for sections taught by renewable term faculty, temporary faculty (visitors, adjuncts, etc.), regular faculty teaching overload sections and student assistants.

The dean’s office will notify units when the preliminary One-Time Instructional Support request are due. After being notified, units must enter requests into the Teaching Load and Course Enrollment Management system ( and email Cari Harris at, once completed and/or with any questions.
